Steven M. Mathias

Steven Mathias is a film composer, producer, engineer and musician currently based out of northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. His musical career began at a young age when he picked up drums and the guitar.  Eventually, these interests lead him to study additional instruments including bass, piano, and singing as well. 

He knew he had found what he loved to do when an old friend tapped him to compose music for an independent motion picture. As a dedicated student of the successful film composers that have come before him, he is heavily inspired by the accomplishments of Tom Holkenborg, Abel Korzeniowski, John Williams, and especially, Hans Zimmer. A standout moment forever seared in his memory was hearing Hans Zimmer’s score for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.” This lit a fire deep within Steven to push the musical envelope and create something memorable for the ages. 

 Currently, Steven studies at the Berklee University of Music where he hones his craft with an emphasis on film composing. Steven's ability to harness emotion with his technique has resonated with audiences around the world creating profound experiences they are unable to put into words.
